Have a little music lover or need a place for your kids to shake your sillies out? The 3,000 square foot interactive play space at Notasium in Durham is the perfect spot.
Bigger kids will get a kick out of climbing a giant guitar structure and zooming down the slide, belting out favorite tunes in the karaoke booths, jumping in the bounce house, rocking out on the stage, and playing pots & pans in the “Beat Kitchen.”
Toddlers can climb padded instrument shaped structures that create sounds as they are stepped on, dancing on a large keyboard (remind anyone else of the movie Big?), moving around large “Lite Brite” style pegs on an interactive musical wall, etc.
There really is something for all ages. Both my 7 year old and 21 month old found plenty to do. Neither wanted to leave when time was up and my oldest has been asking when we can return.
Depending on how much hands on supervision your children need during open play, parents can take advantage of a seating area along the exterior of the play space. Notasium offers a few select snacks and drinks for purchase including Bean Traders coffee. Grab a cup, relax, and let your kids get those sillies out while they play and learn. Win, win, win.
Notasium also offers group and individual music lessons through its school and hosts birthday parties. Find out more details including play space open play times on the website (linked below). Remember your socks!
