I love fireworks, but I am spoiled. I grew up in Washington, DC and was lucky to be able to watch them from the National Mall with the Washington Monument as the back drop after an afternoon with the Beach Boys. Wow, I am getting old! So the thought of packing into Keenan Stadium at UNC just doesn’t appeal to me that much so I’ll be watching my fireworks in A/C and high definition:)
Here are 4 ideas for some fun over the Holiday weekend:
1. Check out Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill. The shows are particularly awesome.
2. Yes, it is hot outside but it’s not supposed as oppressive this weekend so check out Duke Gardens in Durham. A morning picnic under a large shade tree sounds great.
3. An indoor option is Marbles, it is always a home run for my little dudes.
4. If a short road trip sounds like fun the Sciquarium in Greensboro is awesome and had indoor and outdoor fun.
